Hi! I’m Emily. I am a twenty-something Brit who had my soul crushed by the world of corporate London for a couple of years before heading off on my big adventure.
When I finished University, with a very useful couple of degrees in philosophy, I wasn’t at all sure what I wanted to do with my life so I moved back to London and took a job as an Estate Agent spending every day driving people around to see properties I could never afford to buy. Fun, right? As I’m sure you can imagine, I spent a lot of time daydreaming about my big escape.
So, I quit my job, left all my family and friends, my flat and my belongings and I set off with my backpack in search of some adventure. I’ve always enjoyed travel and I figured that if I didn’t make the big change now I never would. I know so many people – probably like many of you – who feel trapped by their jobs, the inevitable pressure of when or whether to put down roots and get a mortgage while watching time ticking away in a life they’re not happy with. But, if you feel the need for a change of job, a change of pace or a change of scenery, trust your gut. Then you too can play with parrots!
A hankering for travel has always been there for me – biding its time and waiting for me to take action. I hope I can share with you some of the inspiration; the real reasons for travelling to places where you don’t speak the language, where you’re not used to the food and where you’ve no idea how to cross the road without being mown down by a motorbike carrying an entire family. Share your top travel destinations, inspirations and frustrations with me.
Join me as I try to delay the inevitable need for a job through a little penny pinching, some off-the-beaten-track locations and some DIY, no frills backpacking.
Remember, you can always contact me on: email@example.com or you can get me on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Looking forward to speaking soon!
